ABOUT
Hey, I’m Yan, hello and welcome to my blog. Please grab a cup of green tea, make yourself at home and enjoy your stay!
The birth of RealSuzhou came from a local’s passion for her hometown, yup, my passion for Suzhou, China! I’m a native, born and raised in Suzhou and have spent more than 20 years enjoying my life here. Actually I have never been far away Suzhou even when I went to university in Nanjing, only 2 hours away by train. After graduating, I came back working and got involved in international trade business. All my wonderful days in Suzhou has given me a deep sense of affection to the different aspects of this amazing city.
An ancient city, Suzhou has stood in its present location for more than 2500 years, unbelievable! There is no doubt that the gorgeous culture & works of art here, which have gestated through the passing millennium, deserve to be promoted and enjoyed by greater numbers all over the world. Yet Suzhou is also a vibrant city with rapid development of both its economy and its modern culture. You will be amazed when you come to appreciate the two different worlds, both ancient and contemporary, that are represented here in Suzhou. That’s probably what make me addicted. When I’m here, I always feel my mind is rested while my body is energetic, calm and alive.
As a Suzhou local enthusiast, I started RealSuzhou to blog beautiful things in life for my nice memories and to share my intimate and personal knowledge to the town, the kept secrets of the city, pictures, etc to have visitors worldwide experience the real Suzhou.
May more of you come to visit this wonderful place in the East of the world for last-for-ever memories. And for me, I enjoy making friends and helping you feel the real Suzhou culture, and dream of exploring more secrets of this beautiful place.
Happy travels and happy stays!
